While speaking ahead of international duty with Denmark Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has said a few things that will make Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers sit up and take notice.

The Dane said that he does not think that Rodgers rates him that highly and that he is not prepared to sit around and keep the bench warm.

When asked about why he did not feature in the games against Chelsea and Manchester City, Agger said: “It definitely wasn’t great. But I don’t make the decisions. I think it is because the manager doesn’t think that I’m good enough.

“[Will I be at Liverpool next season?] I don’t know. That’s up to the manager. I can’t go and put myself on the team sheet.

“I’m no one’s third choice. I’m not thinking about my future.

“Now my focus is on the next international games with Denmark and then I’m looking forward to a long five-week holiday.

“My body and my mind needs to relax.”
