According to Football Direct News a website run by Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has been given the green light to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos.

FDN alleged that the 62-year-old Dutchman has urged Old Trafford to sign the German international or risk losing him to another club. Apparently van Gaal is so fond of Kroo’s ’e is willing to offer Bayern Munich £40 million despite Kroo’s only having one year remaining on his current contract.

Van Gaal also hopes to temp the 24-year-old German to join Manchester United by offering him a massive £260,000 per-week contract.

This all sounds a bit too much for us here at Soccer Transfers, and while we agree Kroo’s is a good player £40 million and £260,000 per-week just sounds a bit much.
