Liverpool is close to closing a £14 million deal for Paris Saint-Germain striker Ezequiel Lavezzi according to the Express who claim the Reds are looking to replace Mario Balotelli following the 24-year-olds inability to score since moving to Anfield.
A number of other clubs in Italy have also been linked with the former Napoli striker since he was dropped by PSG manager Laurent Blanc, not starting a league match since the middle of December.
Prior to that the 29-year-old Argentinian, had managed just two goals for the French champions this season.
