LEIGHTON BAINES has emerged as a shock £15million target for moneybags French outfit Paris St Germain.
PSG have increased their interest in the Everton left-back as they fear losing out on Chelsea’s Ashley Cole.
Boss Carlo Ancelotti is no longer certain that Cole will arrive from Chelsea on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Baines, 28, would be a perfect back-up option. His performances have been just as impressive as Cole’s over the past 12 months.
The England international still has 2½ years left on his Everton deal.
Goodison boss David Moyes says it will take a massive offer to lure away any of their stars.
But £15m for Baines would be a £9m profit on a player they signed from Wigan five years ago.
David Beckham is still considering an offer to join PSG.
