Ever since it was known that Jürgen Klopp would be leaving Borussia Dortmund the 47-year-old manager has been linked with taking over from Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.

And now his agent Marc Kosicke has dropped a hint that his client would be available should a vacancy on Merseyside arise.

‘The Premier League is very exciting,’ he told German website Spox.com.

‘And by that we mean not only the top four, there are still other great clubs.

‘It’s always about the task. When Jürgen signed for Dortmund, there were other clubs that stood better financially.

‘Nevertheless, he signed a contract with Dortmund. He has the great ability to develop things.

‘If he goes to a stadium and feels the energy and thinks that he can do something here, that might be more appealing to him than to go to the supposedly great and to seek the treble.’

For the moment at least it would appear Rodgers job is safe, but that could all change should the Reds get off to a poor start next season.
