Football journalist Matt Law writing in today’s Telegraph Sunday Supplement has said that he thinks the England international should remain at the Emirates despite moves by Manchester City to entice him to leave.

Wilshere along with Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson were linked with summer moves to Manchester City as the Qatari backed club looks to add more home-grown players to their team, yet Law feels the 23-year-old should continue his career with the Gunners.

“City’s interest in Wilshere is genuine but slightly bizarre given his injury record,” he told the Supplement.

“I don’t think he’s completed a season. I don’t think he’s made 100 Premier League starts.  He’s missed tournament s because he’s been injured and it does seem if he gets a kick on the ankle he’s in trouble.

“He needs a full season without any injuries. I think Arsenal is the best place for him at the moment. When he’s fit he will play more often than not for Arsenal whereas I’m still not totally convinced he would always play if fit.”
