Arsenal has received some good news in the recruitment of Southampton defensive-midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, after Spurs switched their interest to Everton’s Republic of Ireland international James McCarthy.
Argentinian manager and former Southampton boss Maurice Pochettino has signalled out McCarthy as an alternative should they fail to land Frenchman Schneiderlin next summer.
The Spurs boss will have his work cut out for both players, with McCarthy expected to fetch around £25 million.
