German Star inches closer to Liverpool with January move on the cards

All we seem to be reading about lately is how Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is going to raid his old club Borussia Dortmund for players and while big named stars such as Marco Reus and Mats Hummels make the headlines it is more likely that you will see Serbian international defender Neven Subotic at Anfield come the end of January.

Reports in the German media and particularly in Bild, point to the 26-year-old following his former boss to England after having played under Klopp at the Westfalenstadion for seven years.

The bright side of a move for Liverpool fans is due to the fact he has fallen down the pecking order at Dortmund since the arrival of Sokratis Papastathopoulos he could be signed for as little as £3.5 million.

We here at Soccer Transfers feel that Klopp should bring in players like Subotic as he knows what Klopp expects from his team and would be an invaluable tool during training, plus he is still young and would put pressure on Martin Skrtel, and Dejan Lovren for a place in Klopp’s starting XI.
