London rivals to Battle Arsenal for £21.8m DM in January

While all eyes will be on the Gunners match with Olympiacos in Athens, Arsenal scouts will be over at Stamford Bridge watching January transfer target Ruben Neves play for Porto against Chelsea in their Champions League Group stage qualifier.

Gunners scouts may not however be the only London team watching the 18-year-old defensive midfielder in action according to Portuguese sports newspaper O Jogo who claim West Ham had scouts in attendance for recent Porto matches and with the new money coming in for Premiership television rights could afford to pay Porto’s valuation of £21.8 million for the up and coming star.

Arsenal being the bigger club will of course remain favourites for the youngster’s signature, but given West Hams charismatic manager Slaven Bilic and the opportunity of more playing time with West Ham than he would get at the Emirates, we would not rule the Hammers out of the equation just yet.
