The world’s most expensive soccer player was all over the news last summer before his $130 million move from Tottenham to Real Madrid, where but for a few minor injuries during the first couple of months he seems to have settled in well.

At Spurs he was the man Tottenham always turned to when it came to free kicks providing some of the best goals for the club last season, yet now playing for Madrid the Welsh wizard has to leave those duties to another well-known free kick specialist who goes by the name of Cristiano Ronaldo.

When questioned about his free kicks while playing in England, the then Spurs man admitted that he often did not know where they would end up saying that the secret to hitting a free kick was to hit the valve of the ball while trying not to put spin on it.

As an Ambassador for British sports drink Lucozade, Bale is staring in a series of training video’s to teach some of the skills he uses out on the pitch.

Lucozade is a concoction that was invented in 1927 by Newcastle chemist William Owen while looking to produce an energy drink for people suffering from colds and the flu.

With the advent of Gatorade the company looked to market its product to the sports industry hiring well known figures like Gareth Bale to promote the drink around the world.

In the video below watch the Real Madrid winger describe how to take the perfect free kick, and with a little practice hopefully you will be able to start banging them in also.
