Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez rejected an offer to stay at Napoli yesterday despite his team being third in Italy’s Serie A.

Benitez apparently rejected the offer due to the fact he wants to return to Merseyside and rule supreme again at Anfield.

Italian newspaper Il Mattino is today reporting Benitez is dreaming of a return to Anfield and the Champions League glory he achieved with the team beating AC Milan in Istanbul during the 2005 final.

Currently though we can see no reason why the Reds would want to part with current manager Brendan Rodgers even if they did not finish in the top-four this year as we feel he is being given the time to build a team that will guarantee success for the Reds in years to come.

There is however a job for the Spaniard should he want to go to Newcastle United, which although would get him back to working in the Premiership would also prove to be quite a challenge.
