Falcao is finished at Manchester United according to Sun football correspondent Neil Custis Colombian striker Radamel Falcao is finished at Old Trafford after falling out of favour with United manager Louis van Gaal.

So far this season the 28-year-old has only managed three goals in the Premiership and was left out of the squad for the recent 1-0 loss to Southampton.

As part of their loan deal with Monaco United have the option of signing the striker permanently at the end of the season for £43 million, yet given the valuation Curtis thinks that James Wilson would be a better strike partner for Robin van Persie.

Speaking on talkSPORT Curtis said: “Monaco got him back playing in pre-season friendlies, basically to put him out there on the market.

“You have to remember Manchester United got him on deadline day. I always think when you get a player on deadline day there is a panic aspect to it, you’re trying to fill a hole because you couldn’t do it with someone else.

“I know from early on Louis van Gaal didn’t like the look of him [Falcao] in training and he hasn’t liked the look of him since he was left out of the squad for the Southampton game.

“Was [Falcao’s performance against QPR] unlucky or was that just rank, bad finishing? I think it was rank, bad finishing.

“If you ask Manchester United now to pay £43m for him, they’re not going to. If you knock £23m off then you might think about it, but not £43m or £280,000 per week.

“He is not at the races. If I was in charge I would play James Wilson and give him a run, because that is an exciting player with speed, who can tear through defences. I’d love to see him get a run with [Robin] Van Persie.”
