Attacking midfielder Douglas Costa has confirmed Chelsea have made a ‘dream’ offer to sign him from Shakhtar Donetsk.

According to reports on Thursday Chelsea has agreed to the Ukrainian club of £16 million for the 24-year-old.

The player broke the news that an offer had been made, and is very excited about the prospect of coming to Stamford Bridge and linking up with his former Shakhtar teammate Willian.

‘It would be a dream to play for Chelsea,’ he said.

‘It’s a unique chance. I will try to negotiate.’

Shakhtar is known to be a tough club to negotiate with, and although they might prefer not to sell Costa this month, the player made no mention of the offer being rejected.

If the deal goes through it will mean the Blues could have two D. Costa’s on the field at the same time.
