Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen thinks that Tottenham has a realistic chance of winning the premiership despite not currently scoring enough goals.

Spurs have been brilliant in their defensive game, and are only three points behind league leaders Arsenal yet they have found it difficult to score against teams who come to White Hart lane with a game plan of defending deep.

Eriksen joined Spurs in the summer from Ajax in order to bring some creativity to the Spurs midfield, and the Dane is convinced that the goals will come, and that Spurs will be contenders for the title.

“It’s realistic,” he said. “We’re up there. We want to go in the top four and we have the team to try to become number one. Everyone would be satisfied with the Champions League next year but if we’re in the top four, we’re going to go for first.”

Since arriving in England the 21-year-old started very well, but has gone off the boil of late something Spurs manager Andres  Villas-Boas would like to see changed with the youngster confident that there is a place in the team for a small creative player like him.

“There has been a change,” the 21-year-old told the BBC. “When you get different players, you see that they can bring something else. People talked about a ‘kick-and-rush’ style in the past.

“Now, there are still big players who are very physical, but there are also technical players in the English game who want to play football.”
