Newly appointed Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reportedly joined the race to sign Juventus striker Alvaro Morata. Morata has been very impressive for Juventus ever since he joined the Old Lady in 2014 but there is a real chance that Juventus could lose him this summer as a result of a 24 million buy back clause inserted in his contract when he was sold to Juventus by Real Madrid.

Chelsea are said to be interested in the Spaniard as a potential replacement for Diego Costa who the club are likely to get rid of this summer or relegate to the bench. Arsenal have also been linked to the signing of the former Real Madrid star but if the newest report are true, Morata could be playing in Chelsea colours next season as they are certainly able to offer more money than Arsenal under Wenger will be able to offer.

Morata has scored 25 goals in 88 appearance for Juventus and was key to their run to the final of the UEFA Champions league last year. Reports claim Real Madrid will activate the release clause of the Spaniard this summer and then sell him back to Arsenal but they certainly won’t be rejecting the opportunity of getting more money which Chelsea are certainly going to be offering in their attempt to beat Arsenal to his signing.

One thing that could however work against Chelsea is the fact that the Blues won’t be playing in the Champions league next season and Arsenal will be in it. Morata could decide to go to Arsenal instead of Chelsea due to the opportunity of playing in the Champions league.
