PAIN IN SPAIN … Cristiano Ronaldo had a night to forget in Madrid

The £80million superstar had told fans to ‘trust in me’ but he could not find the net as Borussia Dortmund booked their place at Wembley.

Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos showed him how it was done with two late goals.

But it was too little too late as Dortmund held on for a 4-3 aggregate victory.

And defender Mats Hummels can hardly wait for the May 25 final. He said: “We knew if they scored a goal in the first half, the crowd would get euphoric and loud.

“We had the game under control but with the first goal the game changed.”

And the 24-year-old added: “It’s unbelievable — something everyone in the team dreamed of since being an child. Some of us are still children! We are looking forward to Wembley.”

And Dortmund midfielder Kevin Grosskreutz added: “They put a lot of pressure on us and scored two late goals.

“However we are a great club and deserved to go through. I haven’t thought about Wembley yet, let’s celebrate now and think about the final tomorrow.”

Dortmund look likely to be in an all-German final as Bayern Munich take a 4-0 lead to Barcelona in tonight’s other semi-final.
