On loan from Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has confirmed that he has spoken with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho regarding his future at Stamford Bridge after having spent the last three seasons at La Liga champions Atletico Madrid according to the Daily Star.

The Spanish side knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League beating them in the semi-final in London before which Courtois says he was sure of his future, but the win at the Bridge may have changed things.

“My future seemed clear but then we played in the Champions League,” he told Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure.

“And yes, Mourinho called me before the [final League] game against Barcelona.

“What we talked about stays between us. I have a two-year contract with Chelsea, so in principle I will be there for training, then we’ll talk.

“This isn’t the time to think about a transfer. There’s a World Cup at stake.”

Courtois is up against Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet for at start in Belgium’s nets, with the 22-year-old saying he will accept the decision of Belgium national team manager Marc Wilmots.

“I’m ready. I trained Friday and Saturday and I’m in good shape,” he added.

“But I haven’t played with this defence and it’s different with Atletico.

“If [Coach Marc Wilmots] chooses [Simon] Mignolet, I can’t argue.”
