According to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca has already told the club that he wants to be allowed to move to the Premiership, news that will delight Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers who hopes that Bacca will be the Luis Suarez replacement he failed to sign last summer.

‘Carlos Bacca at the end of the season told Sevilla he would like a way out,’ Balague told Sky.

‘Sevilla would like him to stay, but he does know there is interest from the Premier League and Italy.

‘He likes the idea of coming to the Premier League, of course he has been abroad for a few years and would be happy to continue that progression abroad.’

Bacca is currently on international duty at the Copa America, with any decision on his future unlikely to be sorted until his participation in the tournament has ended.

This would be a brilliant move on the part of Liverpool with Rodgers having decided to spend the money they were going to use on two players rather than £32.5 million for Christian Benteke.
