Chelsea now appear to be the latest club linked with Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos as new of his imminent departure from the Allianz Arena makes the news this morning.

After already having undergone months of speculation linking the German international to Manchester United and Real Madrid it would now appear as if Chelsea have been left out, so it was up to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial to come up with a story linking the 24-year-old to Chelsea.

To give the paper credit they have come up with a fantastic tale linking the Mannschaft star to Chelsea in which they claim will be a five-year-deal that will pay Kroos a significant €8.5m-a-season wage.

The Spanish paper points out that Real Madrid might be willing to up their offer to Bayern Munich, but that they will never increase the €6 million per-season wage that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is offering.

If we were Chelsea fans, we would find it hard to fathom as to why we would need a new midfielder given that we had just signed Cesc Fabregas and already have, Willian, Oscar, Ramires, Eden Hazard, Andre Schürrle, John Obi Mikel, Mohamed Salah, Marco van Ginkel, Nemanja Matić, ucas Piazon, Oriol Romeu, Gael Kakuta, Nathaniel Chalobah, Thorgan Hazard on the books.

Thanks El Confidencial, but it just does not make sense.
