It is begging to look like Italian striker Mario Balotelli could become the Arsenal striker everyone was expecting to come to the Emirates this summer, after the Gunners launch a £25 million bid with AC Milan.

For many Arsenal fans the thought of having Balotelli on the team is exciting, yet for others there will be a feeling of trepidation given the reputation and off-field antics the Italian bad boy is famous for.

The Daily Star is reporting that the 23-year-old has been told by AC Milan’s new manager Filippo Inzaghi that he is free to leave the club as the Serie A giants look to rebuild following a disappointing season under former trainer Clarence Seedorf.

Arsenal’s new kit sponsor Puma also have a deal with Balotelli, and it is being suggested that they are partly responsible for the move, and are also willing to help finance it.

Meanwhile nothing has been signed yet, and moneybag club Monaco is also said to be interested in the Italian international should they let Falcao leave, but as things stand and the weight of Puma behind them Arsenal would appear to be the clear favourites to sign Super Mario.
