Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is on the verge of making his first summer signing after having announced yesterday that there were areas in his team that still needed addressing.

“I know that our rivals are not going to accept this title and they are going to fight and there are three or four teams that will be aiming for us,” he said. “We have to be better – me, the players and our squad.

“Maybe they need some fresh blood to keep them under pressure. They know me they know that they are not going to keep their positions on the basis of this year.”

According to the Daily Star the Blues boss is about to make his first summer signing with a £20m swoop for Ghana international Baba Rahman.

The Black Star (Ghanaian national team nickname) has been impressive this season while playing in the German Bundesliga for Augsburg attracting plenty of attention from Premiership teams.

With Chelsea looking to bring in one or possibly two players from Atletico Madrid, the Blues plan on using former Atletico left-back Filipe Luis as part of any deal, and are lining up Rahman as the Brazilian’s replacement.
