As the Blues prepare to be crowned Premier League champions this afternoon should they beat Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, manager Jose Mourinho has decided to enter the race for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani according to the Express on Sunday.

Reports coming out of Italy yesterday suggested that the Uruguayan striker has had enough of playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in manager Laurent Blanc’s team and has submitted a transfer request to the French manager.

This immediately alerted Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool who are all looking to bring in a big name striker over the summer.

As for Chelsea, Mourinho has seen that the injury jinxed Diego Costa needs a reliable counterpart, and with Loic Remy not living up to expectations and Didier Drogba now too old for a main role, the Portuguese manager sees Cavani as the perfect player to either lead or partner Costa in his desire to be the first manager to ever win the Champions League with three different clubs.
