Manchester United must sack LVG if they lose to Manchester City

With Rooney, Martial and Depay not delivering the number of goals Manchester United need in the league so far, United are said to be in the market for another striker and one of the numerous strikers who have been linked to a move with the Old Trafford outfit is former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku who is currently with Everton.

The big Belgian striker who has scored 26 goals in the Premier League this season for Everton is in demand. He has been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich, PSG, Real Madrid, Arsenal and a return to Chelsea have also been moted.

But Manchester United hope they can win the race to sign the Belgian striker. And to further add fuel to the speculations, Manchester United’s manager Louis Van Gaal has been speaking of how great Lukaku is which could be an indication that the rumours linking the player to a move to Old Trafford is true.

“He (Lukaku) is very interesting,” Van Gaal said when asked how United would deal with the Belgium international. LVG was quoted as saying.

“When you score a lot of goals, you are always a potential candidate for clubs. Football is like that.

“When you look at scoring goals and making assists, he (Lukaku) does that at the highest level in the Premier League.

“But I think every club in the world is comparing strikers.”

Do United have a chance of signing Lukaku?

If the reports linking PSG to his signing is true, then I would say the Red Devils have no chance at all. The Parisiens are likely not to be with Zlatan Ibrahimovic who has announced he could be leaving the French capital club this summer and with Cavani also confirming he could leave, PSG could do with someone of Lukaku’s quality.

Added to the fact that Lukaku has confirmed he will like to finally play in the Champions League since he hasn’t played in the Europe premier club football competition ever in his career. With United not in the Champions League and PSG in it, United may stand little to no chance.

It should also be noted that PSG can afford to offer the player more money than United can.
