Everton name their price for star player as Manchester United and Chelsea prepare for a fight

There has been plenty of talk of late surrounding Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and the fact that he will probably leave Goodison Park this summer.

Today’s latest update in his situation comes from Belgium daily Het Laatste Nieuws who claim that Everton have told both Manchester United and Chelsea that they will not sell their star striker for less than 80€ million.

The Belgium international is under contract with the Toffee’s until 2019, but with the big clubs interest in the 22-year-old intensifying, including that of French champions Paris Saint-Germain, Everton will come under immense pressure to sell and hope that their big asking price may well in fact deter offers.

Should a team decide to meet Everton’s asking price, Lukaku would eclipse the £50 million that Manchester City paid to Wolfsburg for Kevin De Bruyne and make the youngster the most expensive Belgian transfer of all time.

Here at Soccer Transfers we feel that there is definitely a deal to be done for both Lukaku and his in demand teammate John Stones whose sale together would provide manager Roberto Martinez enough money to overhaul the entire club.
