It is easy to understand why Manchester United fans are upset following the clubs latest bore draw at Old Trafford yesterday afternoon with West Ham.

It was the third game in a row in which they have drawn against their opponents, with two of them finishing 0-0, hardly the type of game you want to see when you are paying as much as £51 for a match day ticket.

Dutchman, Van Gaal does not understand what all the fuss is about however saying: “I don’t know why fans shout attack, attack, attack.”

And while the 64-year-old manager doesn’t seem to understand what the fans want we do, and that is exciting attacking football at Old Trafford without balls being kicked back to goalkeeper David De Gea.

Speaking after the match LVG said he was pleased with the team’s performance despite the fact they could not score.

“I am pleased with the performance but when you create that many chances you have to score,” said the Dutchman.

“Scoring is not only about composure but also a lot of luck, in my opinion. I’m not so worried but we need to get over this period.

“My players created a lot more chances than in recent matches but we didn’t do the most important aspect of football.

“I don’t understand that they are shouting attack, attack, attack because we are the attacking team and not West Ham United.”
