News coming out of Spain today is that Real Madrid will be looking to make changes following their recent rough patch and due to French international striker Karim Benzema’s off field involvement in a sex tape scandal they may will be willing to part company with the 27-year-old.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was strongly linked with the former Lyon star during the summer, but a deal never materialised with Benzema turning down offers to remain in Spain.
This time around things could be different however with Spanish football website Fichajes,claiming that Real Madrid would be prepared to let Benzema go if their asking price is met, and that it is Arsenal who is in pole position to land the French star.
Benzema is a quality finisher and the type of player that the Gunners currently lack as he showed with his two goals last night in Los Blanco’s 4-1 win over Getafe at the Santiago Bernabeu.
If Arsenal can manage to sign Benzema this January we will take back all the bad things we have ever said about Wenger as it will be a sign that he is serious in winning the Premiership.
