Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer where he will replace Mario Balotelli who the Reds signed from AC Milan for £16 million.

The French international is reportedly keen on a move to the Premiership amid growing tensions between him and Real Madrid trainer Carlo Ancelotti.

According to the Spanish press Real Madrid is willing to part with Benzema for £40 million and will use the money to sign Arsenal target Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG boss Laurent Blanc continues to play the Uruguayan striker out of position favouring Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the lone centre-forward.

Madrid however will have to compete with Arsenal for the 27-year-old, with both clubs knowing it will take at least £50 million in order for him to leave the Parc des Princes.
