In their quest to find a new central defender that can also play the kind of football Barcelona are known for the Spanish Daily sports newspaper SPORT is reporting that the Catalans are preparing to go after Liverpool’s Danish international Daniel Agger after deciding that the Liverpool man is the best man to help shore up their defence.
Barcelona’s search for an imposing ball playing central defender appears to now rest upon Liverpool defender Dan Agger.
Barcelona had earlier in the transfer window gone after Thiago Silva, and David Luis of Chelsea, but Chelsea’s asking price of 40€ million seemed unrealistic but they are still prepared to go after the Brazilian or Agger.
At 28-years-old Agger has often spoken of his love for Liverpool even going as far as getting YNWA tattooed on his fingers, yet he knows a move to the Nou Camp would be hard to resist.
