Barcelona star is ready to link up with Guardiola at Manchester City

The latest rumours doing the rounds today are that Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets wants to link up with his former boss Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

The 27-year-old  Spanish international rose to the forefront at the Nou Camp under the tutelage of Guardiola and has set his heart on moving to Manchester and playing for the Catalan maestro once more, says Tribal Football‘s Emanuele Giulianelli.

According to the rumour Busquets has no interest about signing a new contract with Barcelona after having been offered £7.5 million per-year by Sheikh Mansour to move to England.

Manchester United have also thought to have shown an interest in trying to get the contract holdout to move to the Premier League, but it is City who appears to hold all the cards.

Busquets has won virtually every accolade in the game with Barcelona and Spain, while being regarded as possibly the best defensive midfielder in the world.

A move to the Etihad would most definitely be a major coup for City and their new manager, but if you talk to people on the streets in Barcelona they will tell you that Busquets would never play for any other team than Barcelona, so I guess we will just have to wait until summer before we know if this is just talk or a real deal.
