Arsenal star pleads with Wenger to sign this top striker

Arsenal’s hope of finally signing a world class striker this summer has been dealt a blow. Many reports in the last three weeks had claim Arsenal are interested in signing Juventus’ Alvaro Morata. The reports claim Arsenal have been talking to Real Madrid in regards to the signing of the Spaniard and have received encouragement from the ten times Champions league winner that they could get the striker.

Real Madrid was said to be ready to activate a release clause they inserted into the contract of the Spaniard when he was sold to Juventus. The release clause whichis put at £24 million can be activated by Real Madrid this summer. Arsenal and Real Madrid were said to have had an agreement that the player would be re-sold to Arsenal for £30 million thereby giving Los Blancos an extra £6 million.

Juventus is however not ready to let the player go according to the latest reports. The Old Lady are said to be ready to offer Real Madrid more money in order to remove the buy back clause in Morata’s contract. This means should the player choose to remain in Italy, Arsenal will be losing out as Real Madrid can’t sell him to the Gunners unless the player himself agrees.

The bad news is, Morata himself has revealed in the past that he will like to continue his football with Juventus which means Arsenal can as well forget signing him this season. The risk in this is, the likes of Cavani, Lukaku, Icardi and Higuain who are available this summer are likely to cost way more than £45 million and knowing Wenger, he is likely to back out if the price exceeds £30 million.
