All Arsenal fans know that manager Arsene Wenger will try to bring in a top striker this summer, and while the club is being linked to Porto hit-man Jackson Martinez we here at Soccer Transfers feel he should hold off on pulling the trigger and wait for a man who would be perfect to run on to Ozil’s passes his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema.

With new manager Rafa Benitez taking over at the Santiago Bernabeu, and El Confidencial talking up the possibility of a bid for Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, Benzema’s days are probably numbered.

Our belief here at ST is that Benitez will line-up Cristiano Ronaldo as the main forward allowing Garth Bale to take CR7’s spot over on the wing, a situation which will suit the Welshman while allowing him to finally show why Real Madrid paid so much money for him.

Meanwhile Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is monitoring the situation closely while also knowing that he has competition for a top striker with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool also in the market for a goal-scorer.

At 27-years-old the French international is exactly the type of player the Gunners need, and would go a long way in helping them secure the Premiership title.

Saying this however we are relying on Arsene Wenger to hold off on Martinez and hopefully behind the scenes let Benzema know he is wanted at the Emirates to see if they can get the ball rolling for what would be a £35 million marque summer signing.
