Following the departure of Bacary Sagna for Manchester City Arsenal search for a new right-back has them putting Toulouse’s Aurier and Atletico Madrid’s Juanfran on the front burner, yet Gunners boss Arsene Wenger could decide to go after Schalke’s Japanese international right-back Atsuto Uchida instead.

The 26-year-old Uchida has plenty of international experience playing for his country, which led to Wenger sending scouts to watch him last season.

Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier was talked about last week as a replacement for Sagna, but Wenger has reservations as to whether or not he would be up to the job.

This has prompted Arsenal to now widen their search turning to the Bundesliga where Wenger thinks players are more prepared for life in the Premiership.

We will have to wait and see how this develops with the possibility of Wenger still signing Aurier who he believes has potential, yet the trouble is the Gunners need a man that can hit the ground running ready for the English top-flight next season.
