Arsenal to pay £30m for Schalke Star

According to reports Arsenal is finally ready to pay £30 million at the end of the season to land long-term target Julian Draxler after having scouted the 21-year-old for years.

The German winger is believed to have a £37 million buyout clause in his contract with the Gelsenkirchen based club and was the subject of a failed bid in the past from Arsenal.

However with Lukas Podolski’s loan spell at Inter Milan coming to an end Wenger may decide to make the World Cup winner part of any deal that could bring Draxler to the Emirates.

Draxler has the ability to play anywhere in the middle of the park, and can also be played up front as a striker and given his young age is expected only to get better.

Manchester City and Chelsea are also interested in the young German, so signing him may not be as cut and dry as Wenger would wish for.
