Despite having an inconsistent season at the Santiago Bernabeu Manchester United and Chelsea target Gareth Bale will not be leaving Madrid this summer according to his agent Jonathan Barnett.

The 25-year-old Welsh winger has had the fans and Spanish media turn against him for some poor performances wet the man who brokered his world-record £86 million move from Tottenham says he is staying put saying: Why would he look to go elsewhere?

“Real Madrid are the number one club in the world. There’s always interest in him – but as far as we are concerned he’ll be at Real Madrid next summer.”

The rumour was that Bale could be available for around £80 million after he was once again criticised for peripheral performance in their Champions League semi-final 2-1 loss against Juventus in Turin on Tuesday.

Trainer Carlo Ancelotti however stuck up for Bale after the match saying: “Bale was tired; he’s just come back from an injury and he’s just too important for us.

“He’s our most dangerous player and because he was tired, I preferred not to take any risks and I took him off.”
