Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is desperate to get all his transfer business done and dusted before the team boards the plane for their pre-season tour of the United States that kicks off in Seattle on July 17th when they play reigning Liga MX champion Club América at CenturyLink Field.

Local rag the Manchester Evening News is reporting that Arsenal is now resigned to the fact of not signing Southampton defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin after learning of the Red Devil bosses desire to make him his number one summer signing.

The 63-year-old Dutchman already spoke of his desire to bring in a right-sided defensive midfielder after watching 33-year-old Michael miss a large part of last season through injury.

French international Schneiderlin has long confessed his ambition to play in the Champions League and now if the reports are correct it looks as though the 25-year-old may get to live his dream.

Meanwhile Southampton is believed to want £25 million for Schneiderlin a fee United can easily afford, but it does not mean that LVG will just pay what they ask, yet with the clock ticking we think a deal will be done soon.
