According to Italian Sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport Liverpool has agreed terms with Inter Milan for their 21-year-old Croatian international midfielder Mateo Kovacic and that the youngster will move to Merseyside in a deal said to be worth £16.6 million.
This news comes hot on the heels following manager Roberto Mancini’s remarks yesterday that suggested Kovacic was not for sale and that Inter Milan saw him as a bright prospect that they were keen to nurture at the San Siro.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers meanwhile will be delighted to know that he will have Kovacic at Anfield next season adding yet another talented young prospect to what is fast becoming the youngest squad in the Premiership.
