Arsenal are on course for a massive cleanout of their squad after this season and this may have alerted top premier league sides.

Despite the reports of veterans like Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky being set for the exit door, there are rumors that Theo Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain are likely to join the list of departing players over the summer, According to the Dailystar.

It is reported that the Arsene Wenger has lost hope of both England Internationals after they underwent another dismal campaign at the club this season.

Reportedly, this may have alerted Manchester City and Liverpool, as both clubs are strongly interested in Chamberlain and Walcott respectively.

Walcott has always declared his love for Liverpool – a club he supported while growing up. The Reds have recorded several failed attempts to sign the 27-year-old. However, they could yet get him since he has fallen down the pecking order at the club. With Wenger’s insistence to play Alex Iwobi on the wing, it is in best interest that Walcott plies his trade elsewhere.

Chamberlain has been pinpointed by the incoming boss Pep Guardiola as one of the players he wants to work with at the Etihads. The 22-year-old, who is nursing a knee injury, was one of the Arsenal players that performed admirably against Guardiola’s Bayern Munich side at the Allianz Arena in 2014. It is reported that the Spanish tactician have kept tabs on him ever since.

This may a come as shock to the Arsenal fans because they at risk of losing their British core to other clubs. If Aaron Ramsey departure to Manchester City holds water, then Arsenal would have to balance the equation by signing some local players or recruiting homegrown talent into the first team.
