Jose Mourinho to dump Manchester United for Real Madrid

Manchester United are in pole position to land ex Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho. As against the reports that Mourinho is in talks with Paris Saint Germaine, Manchester Evening News reports that the Portuguese boss has made no contact with PSG ahead of the next season’s campaign job.

It is reported that the manager is still hopeful of landing the job at Old Trafford and he is currently relaxing at his London home while he waits for the deal to be announced.

It was earlier reported that his agent Jorge Mendes had met with United Chief Ed Woodward and both parties are on the verge of reaching a common ground. More so, Mourinho has been reported to have told close friends that he is confident of replacing Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford next season.

A cloud of uncertainty still hovers around the managerial future of the club, and the fans are left bemused over who would take the mantle of leadership. The house seems divided on whether assistant manager Ryan Giggs takes over while another school of thought are of the opinion that Mourinho is the right man.

However, it must be stated that the Red Devils run the risk of jettisoning some of their policies, one of which would be the recruitment of the best talents into the first team.

My gut feeling tells me that Mourinho has kept the PSG job as a plan B should United opt for another manager or decide to stick with van Gaal.
