According to the Daily Express Arsenal is set to battle Liverpool for Real Madrid Winger Denis Cheryshev, despite the 24-year-old never having played a game for the senior team.
Last season however the talented Russian international showed just how good he was while on a season long loan at Villarreal which got the attention of the Premiership duo, yet having grown up within the Real Madrid youth system he is not eager for a move and would like to try and prove his worth to new trainer Rafa Benitez.
“It is a privilege to be here, with the best players in the world,” he told Spanish reporters.
“We are here to help, when the manager creates opportunities for us to play, we will do so full of enthusiasm because being here is a real privilege.”
