Arsenal have been linked with the signing of different strikers in the last few days but one of them will not be coming to the Emirates this summer and he is no other striker other than Mauro Icardi who is realistically one of the strikers Arsenal could have signed this summer.

Icardi who is unlikely to be as expensive as the likes of Lukaku, Cavani and won’t demand as much as Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made it clear he is happy at Inter Milan and is not looking to leave the club this summer.

Responding to a question in regards to his future Icardi said; “Every year they say that I’m leaving, it’s always the same story.

“The club has done great work by bringing in top players. At the start we were winning 1-0 but we were up there, then in January we had a decline but the team is growing.

“So where do you want me to go? I’m happy to be here, to be the captain, the striker and to score.”

This is certainly bad news for Arsenal especially as news emerged on Thursday that Juventus are going to be paying Real Madrid more money to ensure the buy back clause put in the Spaniard’s contract is removed which will automatically give Arsenal no chance of signing the Spaniard.

Couple with this statement from Mauro Icardi, Arsenal’s options are gradually eroding and if Wenger doesn’t move fast, Arsenal may end yet another transfer window without having signed the striker the Gunners so need.

If there is anything this season has shown, it is that Arsenal could do with a very prolific striker. The likes of Welbeck and Giroud won’t win the league for Arsenal and that is a fact that has been proven by the last few seasons.
