With the uncertainty surrouding the future of Eden Hazard, Chelsea are reportedly discussing with PSG for the signing of Javier Pastore as the replacement for Hazard. Accoridng to a report by TMW, Antonio Conte sees the Argentine as someone who is able to step into the shoes of the Belgian.

Pastore who has been with PSG for five years hasn’t been able to pen down a regular starting shirt with the Parisiens and as a result of frustration due to the lack of first team action is likely to leave the club this summer with Chelsea a likely destination.

According to the report by TMW, Chelsea officials have been discussing with the representatives of the Argentine with the hope of bringing in to Stamford Bridge this summer. The Argentine who has been linked with Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool is said to be available for £33 million.

Chelsea will hope they can beat the rest of the Chasing pack for the signature of the midfielder especially as if Hazard leaves, Pastore will be guaranteed a first team shirt. However, the lack of Champions league football may put paid to Chelsea’s chance of signing Javier Pastore.

With Tottenham and Arsenal who has also been linked to the signing of the player in the Champions league next season, the lure of Champions league could tempt him to choose any of the other clubs interested in him ahead of Chelsea.

Also, in my opinion, Chelsea should be aiming for someone who is of a higher profile than Pastore. This is not taking anything away from Pastore, he is a good player, but good players have their own class. Pastore is of one class and Hazard is of another class.
