Fresh over the excitement following last night’s 2-0 over Bayern Munich we have more good news for Gooner fans, and that is that reports coming out of Spain are suggesting that Arsenal has opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a potential January deal for Turkish star Hakan Calhanoglu.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is thought to be a huge fan of the 21-year-old, who is regarded as one of the best free-kick takers in the world, and now following his recent performances in the Bundesliga and Champions League, Wenger is ready to test the Germans resolve with what he considers to be a sizable January bid.
If you were to ask any Arsenal fan who Wenger should buy in January they would probably say that the club needs a back-up for defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin and a world-class striker and while Calhanoglu is an attacking midfielder his prowess with a set ball is just too good an opportunity to pass up.
