Manchester United got back to winning ways with their brilliant 3-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, yet despite the win, manager Louis van Gaal will still try to strengthen his squad in January.

The 64-year-old Dutchman spent £110 million during the summer, yet the Red Devils still seems short when you have a look at the clubs current list of injuries.

Topping the clubs list of likely targets is Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan, with some reports even suggesting that a fee has been agreed between the two clubs for the Argentinian internationals signature.

Another name on Manchester United’s list of possible candidates is Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic who is also being linked with a move to Chelsea.

United however had scouts on hand to watch the 19-year-old score a 25-yard bullet in the 3-0 win against FK Rad Beograd at the weekend, and see the 6ft 3in defensive midfielder as the ideal replacement for Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger who are both in the final stages of their footballing careers.

Lastly but not least is all the rumours suggesting that Cristiano Ronaldo is looking for an escape route from the Santiago Bernabeu, and that Spanish football expert Guillem Balague says his agents have a plan in place and it could involve a return to Old Trafford.
