Arsenal manager shocked by fans reaction to Swansea draw

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger,  has now put aside signing a new two year contract after sources close to the 64-year-old Frenchman say he has been affected by the fans reaction following the Chelsea loss, and the draw Tuesday night against Swansea at the Emirates.

The Gunners were booed off the pitch at halftime during the Swansea goal after falling behind to an early goal from Wilfried Bony before rallying with two quick goals halfway through the second half from Podolski and Giroud only to watch midfielder Mathieu Flamini score an own goal in the final minute of play.

An inside source at the club has told the Daily Express: “Arsene has been affected by the criticism.

“Previously it was all water off a duck’s back to him because he was so sure of what he wanted and so sure of the course he was on.

“But he has been really shaken by this, for the first time.”

Despite already having agreed a new contract in principle and having the full backing of the directors the club is drawing up a list of possible candidates for the job should Wenger decide to call it a day with names like Everton’s Roberto Martinez and Borussia Dortmund’s Jürgen Klopp topping the list.

The Arsenal manager has all but conceded that the title race is over now and is doing everything he can to get ready for Manchester City’s visit on Saturday praying that his side will not collapse as they did in the 6-0 loss to Chelsea.
