Nothing seems to be going well for Arsenal at the moment with the clubs record signing Mesut Özil still trying to get his mojo back, and French striker Olivier Giroud who got caught with a model in his hotel room in the early hours of the morning having his wife say that she wants to leave London and move back to France.
Then just yesterday photos of Arsenal players partying the night away at a Great Gatsby themed birthday bash just hours after the clubs humiliating loss to Chelsea where a man who should have been celebrating his 1,000 game in charge with a win had instead to listen to Chelsea fans singing that he was an “expert in failure.”
The new scandal to hit the Arsenal dressing room surfaced this morning when German newspaper Bild in the latest edition of their magazine BUNTE claimed that striker Lukas Podolski had split from his wife Monika making him yet the latest Gunner to have off the field issues.
The article was very light on facts though accept to say that the German international had not been home to Cologne since Christmas where his wife still lives as she did not want to move to London and have their 5-year-old son Louis have to change schools.
The 27-year-old Monika got married to the Arsenal striker in 2011 but the pair have known each other since she was 17. Talks in recent months have linked Podolski with a move back to Germany and this just like the talk of Giroud moving back to France can be no good for the Arsenal dressing room or the moral of the team.
At this stage it is just a rumour in a German tabloid so I would not read too much into this just yet.
