Sports editor for the Irish Examiner Tony Leen has gotten Gooners excited after posting on twitter last night a rumour that the Gunners were tracking four defensive midfielders, and that they would sign one of them this January after a relatively poor star to the season.
Leen is well respected for his inside knowledge about what is going on inside the Emirates and was one of the first people to report that Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez had signed for the north London club.
He is reporting now that his sources claim two of the players the Gunners are watching play abroad while the other two play in the Premiership.

Our best guess here at Soccer Transfers is that the two Premiership players are Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko and Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.
As for the two foreign based players Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho and Rubin Kazan’s Yann M’Vila, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan.
