Arsenal is reportedly considering making a move for 27-year-old Manchester United centre-back Jonny Evans even though Arsene Wenger already has those positions covered by Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker according to the Mirror.

If Arsenal were to buy the Northern Ireland captain it would go a long way in showing how Arsene Wenger is preparing his squad not only to compete in the Premiership, but also allow him to rest players in cup competitions

West Brom manager Tony Pulis would like to bring Evan’s to the Hawthorns but is put off by Manchester United’s £10 million valuation, something that is no problem for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

Currently Evan’s finds himself spending more time on the bench at Old Trafford than he does on the pitch, which would be a similar situation at the Emirates.

One thing Evans does have going for him however, is the fact he can play out on the flanks and challenge Gabriel Paulista or Calum Chambers for a place in the team.
