Now that Arsenal number two goalkeeper David Ospina has taken over from Wojciech Szczesny his three consecutive clean sheets are doing all the talking for him despite the fact at only six feet tall many people might consider him not tall enough for the English game.

Despite this the Colombian international is not fazed saying he like playing in England because “nobody wants to give an inch.” And that he relishes the Physicality of the Premiership.

Ospina who joined Arsenal in the summer from French side Nice said: “English football is very direct. You have to be focused for the entire 90 minutes because you can score or concede at any moment.

“The football here is really physical and nobody wants to give an inch – that’s what I think makes this great league so exciting and special.”

The 26-year-old admits it has helped to have Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny in front of him adding: “They’ve helped a lot. They’re great players and great people. That has really helped me. They’re very experienced. We hope to keep winning, keep learning every day and keep making the most of the opportunities we get.

“[As a goalkeeper] you try to help the team by giving them confidence from the back and keeping a clean sheet.”
