Arsenal boss worried about Sanchez

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expects Chilean Alexis Sanchez to be ready for the FA Cup final, but fears the Gunners forward could miss the start of the season.

Wenger confirmed yesterday, that an agreement between the club and Chile stops the South American country from calling up Sanchez early for the Copa America, which they are hosting this year.

Sanchez will be available for Arsenal when the play Aston Villa May 30th at Wembley, but should Chile have a good run in the Copa America which runs till July 4th, it could have a knock on effect for Arsenal.

“If they go very far, he will miss the start of the season,” said Wenger.

The 26-year-old Sanchez has been a star performer at the Emirates scoring 18 goals since moving to London from Barcelona for £32 million last summer, and Wenger will be keen to have him rested before the 2015/2016 season kicks off on August 8th.
