Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla admits the team is running on empty after their gruelling extra-time FA Cup semi-final win over Reading on Saturday, but is backing Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez to bag another brace for the Gunners in the final when they take on Aston Villa.

Wembley must seem like a second home to the Arsenal forward after the 25-year-old scored two goals in Saturdays win to match the pair he scored for Chile against England to give Roy Hodgson his first loss as England manager.

And now teammate Santi Cazorla would like to see him repeat it when they take on Aston Villa in May as Arsenal looks to win back-to-back trophies.

He said: “Let’s hope he keeps that up and scores twice in the final.

“We are very happy for him. He is a key player for us in a good moment and hopefully he will carry on scoring.

“Of course we are all tired. So is he. He has the Copa America too at the end of the season but he just wants to play all of the time, as many games as you can give him.

“Now we have to rest and finish the season with the objectives we had at the start of the season.”
